Realized on Sunday that it was my 28th year in a row attending the U.S. Open, something that would have seemed beyond my wildest imagination when I first watched it in my living room at Willow Hill in Madison Heights, Mich., as a 10-year-old back in 1977. This year's event is the first to start on the weekend -- with first-round matches spread over three days instead of two -- and boy did we clean up in the Hunk Department. But in addition to seeing many of my favorite players in action, I also had the long-overdue thrill of meeting up with my friend and fellow blogger Greg Hernandez, whom I hadn't seen in over a decade! (That's Greg and his friend Hope with Damian and me by Court 10.) See all the boys I got BELOW.
Spotted Tracy Austin's youngest son, Sean Holt, watching fellow ex-USC-er Stefan Dostanic against equally hot American Eliot Spizzirri, and then just happened to run into him where I had to take a second to tell him that I'm the former president of his mother's fan club! (Very sweet kid.)
My hunky Argentine watching two hunky Argentines
Read Greg's post HERE!
What Mariano Navone lacked in game he more than made up for in sex appeal
Marcos Giron and his best ass-et
Camilo Ugo Carabelli, aka the sluttiest-looking man on tour
Big Tomas Etcheverry giving off Del Potro energy
Tallon Griekspoor was just useless out there against Mannarino(!0, but my god is he HULKING!
Borna Coric was looking good until he wasn't
Jiri Lehecka is solid as a rock
Matteo Arnaldi sighting
Eliot Spizzirri is one sexy man
As is Stefan Dostanic
Tomas Machac didn't disappoint in person
Ditto for cutie pie Luca Nardi
Out on the practice court we caught Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard
Reilly Opelka
Opelka seems to be working with the recently retired Denis Kudla, who was looking fine
Francisco Cerundolo is looking more jacked than when we saw him in Paris
"No autographs, please"
Tommy Paul was also out there for a second
My latest obsession -- better known as Luciano Darderi -- completely outplayed Rinky Hijikata
And then had the nerve to look like this afterward ...
Fábián Marozsán came up short against Ugo Blanchet, but only gamewise
Arthur Rinderknech had his way with ...
Roberto Carballés Baena
But it should have been the other way around based on this
A poorly-outfitted Jakub Mensik was too much for Nico Jarry
Who looked like a million Chilean peso
While I was stalking Novak on the practice court, Damian struck Czechian gold with Mr. Daisy Dukes himself!
Fountain run dry
And no trip to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center would be complete without a Honey Deuce, or two!
