'Tis the Season
Now Hallmark Channel is just pandering to me: There's a Christmas movie on right now starring the hot guy who f**ked Bryan Singer to get the role in "Superman Returns"; Gregory Harrison; AND a basket of kittens ... set in a firehouse! And there's a Bundt cake.
UPDATE:
Just now realizing "The Nine Kittens of Christmas" is a sequel to a less cat-intensive film -- "The Nine Lives of Christmas" -- I watched with the sound off a couple years ago!
Song of the Day: 'Midnight Rapture' by Anabel Englund
With thanks to Michael, who alerted me to this Blondie-inspired track. I thought it was kind of cute -- in a Sophie Ellis Bextor kind of way. But a fellow Debbie Harry fan took one listen and said: "Let's take a groundbreaking song with amazing lyrics and sample it for a generic dance tune with the shittiest lyrics imaginable."
Have a listen and decide for yourself!

Rabbit Stew
Lady Bunny's Bernie Bro politics are exhausting. (Someone desperately needs a remedial civics lesson.) But I do get a kick out of her still speaking her mind on other touchy topics -- her detractors don't stand a chance! -- something I find is best done offline with friends anymore.

Happy Thanksgiving!
God knows it wasn’t easy — health issues, complicated travel itineraries, etc. But I am so grateful my entire family was able to be together for my mom’s 80th birthday (Thanksgiving day). They’re not for everyone, but I sure love ‘em. #family #mom #thanksgiving

For those curious, none of us has any ties to the Ozark region. It was selected because my parents thought it was a nice midpoint for East Coast fliers and Arizona drivers, and they heard it was picturesque. (It was, if you looked past all the Type 2 diabetes!)

Vax Appeal
The good news is everyone over 18 is now eligible for a Covid booster shot. The bad news is pharmacies are merging right and left -- and CVS is slated to close 900 stores over the next three years -- so having to deal with these duopolies is getting more difficult each day. Local NYC chain Duane Reade, which was bought out by Walgreens, inexplicably refused to give me the booster shot I had booked because they erroneously believed I also had an appointment at another location. (I didn't make an appointment at another location, but even if I had, I was later told by two other employees there was no reason this couldn’t be straightened out by the staff in two seconds.) That I hadn't had the booster was of no interest to them, they simply refused to assist me, despite the eventual scene I caused that saw me getting high-fived by strangers in the waiting area who could not believe how badly I was being treated. Alas, I will try again when I return from Thanksgiving with the family ... in the Ozarks (of all places)!, where I likely need it most.

I'm away for Thanksgiving and my mom's 80th birthday, so postings will be light this week. To make it up to you, here is a double dose of manspreading!
