Behind the Music: A La Plage

Long before the Backstreet Boys and *NSync there was a boy band from Arizona called A La Plage. My friends Mark and Greg and I didn't have any musical abilities --and I certainly couldn't carry a tune -- but back in the summer of 1983, with KajaGooGoo riding high on the charts, that was no reason for three teenage boys not to be in a band.

Thanks to the wonderful advent of the InterWeb, you can now enjoy the glorious results of a misspent youth for yourself with MP3s of our two biggest songs, "(She Was) Kidnapped at the Bowling Alley" and "Neck Brace" (from our EP "Tint").

With the catchy chorus "Neck brace, neck brace, boo hoo hoo/you look so foolish, I'm ashamed to be seen with you!," I'll leave it to you to try to figure out for yourself why we decided to hang up our Casio keyboards for greener pastures ...

The one on the bed with the red shoes is hot! You should post a bigger version of that pic.

Oh, Kenneth. I wish you'd released a video.
