Let the rightful rediscovery begin. Thirty-five years ago this week, I interviewed Maya for Outweek magazine (August 29, 1990 edition) about his career detour into mainstream stand-up. He was both audacious and endearingly thin-skinned, and I recall how he called me after the article came out, challenging some of my observations. Remembering Frank, lost to AIDS in August of 1995.
