Yikes. It's starting to look like I may need to chronicle the mass destruction of 7th Avenue, too. As if the musical nail salons weren't bad enough, now comes news from Jeremiah's Vanishing New York that one of my regular bodegas -- where I have drunkenly bought more Pop-Tarts than I care to admit to, and who tried to sell me "fresh" milk the day the blackout ended in 2003! -- is being torn down to make room for yet another large (not doubt luxury) apartment building. The Muscle Maker Grill -- whose 8th Avenue location was wiped out by Hurricane Sandy -- as well as Merchants, a casual bar-restaurant that's been in Chelsea longer than I have will also be casualties of this latest real-estate monstrosity. Are you happy, former Mayor Bloomberg?
