Come and Knock on Their (Bedroom) Door

In May I wrote about the short film "Bed Buddies," which tells the story of three friends trying to make it as a thruple. It's January now and while our lives may be on the fast track to ruin, there's one bit of good news -- you can watch the sexy short in its entirety now here:

Friends With (Artistic) Benefits

Was thrilled to spend some time with my pals Dennis Hensley and Danny Casillas in L.A., last week, both of whom have lots going on.

Dennis' latest -- "If We Took a Holiday" -- had its world premiere at Outfest in Los Angeles Saturday night.

The short film -- about a struggling actress (Nadya Ginsburg) whose gay BFF (Dennis Hensley) just got dumped so she tries to make his birthday special by imitating Madonna all day long -- will screen again Wednesday, July 16th as part of the shorts program "Tickled Pink." Tickets HERE -- the trailer will have you DYING!

Meanwhile, Danny's iconic "Chico's Angels" are back on the case, with "Love Boat Chicas" running through Aug. 17 at the Cavern Club Theater (inside Casita Del Campo) in Silverlake. The new hunk is the dreamiest one yet -- and tickets are available HERE.

Who's on Top?

Things get interesting when an Anglo topstud makes assumptions about the sexy Asian he picked up.

Director Hieu Tran writes: The short is about a one night stand that gets competitive when two guys find out they are both tops. The actual short is currently being submitted to film festivals for early 2014. The film is meant to tackle the interracial and Asian stereotypes that are constructed within society.

L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center Debuts New Short Film on LGBT Homeless Youth

Wanted to share with you this emotional new short film -- "Any Given Tuesday" -- about homeless gay youth, featuring Elton John & David Furnish, Jamie Foxx, Lisa Vanderpump and others. Jim Key, the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's chief public affairs officer, tells me that young writer/director Trent Kendrick and producer Michael Fossat were so inspired by their tour of the Center -- and so touched by the plight of the many homeless LGBT youth it serves -- that they developed and produced this piece to heighten awareness and promote support for the Center.

Their film so impressed acclaimed filmmaker Roland Emmerich, one of the Center’s largest donors, that he offered to host the film's debut at an exclusive star-studded benefit dinner this Saturday night, Oct. 19. Co-hosts of the event include Bryan Lourd, David Geffen, Jane Lynch, Amy Pascal, Ryan Murphy and Dustin Lance-Black.

Great work for a great cause. Watch here.

'Sing Along' Has Its World Premiere

I didn't make it to the Broadway-centric premiere of "Sing Along," a short film I have been championing for some time now. But Broadway.com has details HERE!

'Believe the Magic' With Debbie Harry

If Debbie Harry had a hard time defending her film "Videodrome," I don't even want to see her in the hot seat for "Believe the Magic," a bizarre-looking short film directed by Jimi Cauty, who cowrote it with Alannah Currie of the Thompson Twins. Debbie appears to play herself!

SYNOPSIS: A fast-paced road movie about a young man who believes he has won a part in a Hollywood film opposite the rock legend Debbie Harry. The film follows him for 24 hours from an inner city squat party through the streets and suburbs of south London as he tries to make it to the airport.  The film premiered at the Tate Modern in London -- and here is a first trailer:

Bright Lights, Big Singing

Last summer I wrote about "Sing Along," a short film about a sheltered boy with a dream of starring on Broadway, who survives day-to-day life by imagining the world as a musical. Mark Oxman's film reached its Kickstarter goal, and the trailer is now up and running. Enjoy!

Synopsis: Like many his age, Stephen (Myles Erlick) is a kid with a big dream -- to star on Broadway one day.Unfortunately, the 14-year-old is so shy, he is afraid to speak to others and when he does, he stutters uncontrollably. Still, he cannot turn his imagination off, picturing the scary world as an upbeat musical with with singing cafeteria ladies (Uzo Aduba) and history tutors (Sam Tsui). And while teacher (Heidi Blickenstaff) supports him, his mother (Alice Ripley) is less than encouraging, pointing out that a career in musical theater is destined for failture. Will she ever understand that being creative is not something that can be compromised? And what will happen if he forces himself to shut off his talent?
