The 'Vicious' Kind

Pardon me for being late to this party, but if there are any other fuddy-duddies out there who didn't pay attention when everyone was raving about the show "Vicious," do yourself a favor and start watching now. It stars Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi as Freddie and Stuart, an elderly gay couple who have been together for 50 years but endure a love/hate relationship (that closely resembles my mom and stepfather). The writing and performances are truly sublime -- and as great as the leading bitches are, the supporting cast never fails to delight, either. (I'm looking at you, Violet!)
