I keep hearing the virtues of Slack, but in the words of my Molly: "I don't get it." It's AOL messenger, but less efficient. Notifications are spotty. And they want me to join 10 different channels, which means I have to constantly be clicking to jump from one to the other -- to view messages that 99% of the time aren't relevant to me. And every so often I hear people talking about some new policy change and I'll say, "Where did you see that?" And it will turn out it was posted in yet another Slack channel that I'm not a member of. How is this useful?
