GOP Congressmen on Fast Track to Revoke Marriage Equality

As predicted, the Republican-controlled House plans to reintroduce the so-called First Amendment Defense Act (FADA), which is a pretty way of saying "fags are second-class citizens." If the filibuster somehow stops this from going through -- it has bipartisan support in the House and Senate, plus Trump loves licking evangelical ass -- the upcoming challenge to same-sex marriage rights in Texas will surely do the trick, because once Trump's Supreme Court signs off on Texas' bullshit, other states will be able to have their own FADAs. (To top it off, Trump can claim gay marriage is still intact because we will still be able to wed in all 50 states, we'll just be separate and not equal in the red ones.) Thanks again to all my friends and family who thought Hillary Clinton was "just as bad." Read HERE.

I'm going to be retroactively divorced?

@Jeffrey: Are you looking for an easy way out? lol

No, I don't think the marriages will ever be "invalidated." But it will return to an a la carte system where blue states will treat you equally and red states can treat you any way they want -- and I'm not just talking about florists and bakers etc.

not so fast, kenneth, i can't see this surviving a scotus challenge, and don't think it would even make it past federal & district appeals courts, either.

but, yes, here we go again...

Replacing Scalia will be a wash -- but it only takes one more liberal to leave and then I don't have any faith that THAT Supreme Court won't go along with any religious bullshit.

You fuck with peoples' legal marriages and rights, you're going to get the business end of the bull. And the bears. They have NO idea.

I agree with northalabama. Even with one court pick, Trump can only make the Supreme Court as bad as it already was with Scalia. He can't make it worse unless he gets to replace one of the liberals or Kennedy. We just need to make sure they all stay healthy for four years. Or 3 years, since we now know that a president doesn't get to nominate a justice in their last year in office
