Belinda Carlisle skipped the premiere of the Go-Go's stage musical, "Head Over Heels," to play Des Moines Gay Pride. My friend Greg said she sang to a backing track but sounded and looked fabulous -- and "didn't look mortified to be there"! (The only thing that sounds better is her gig with Susanna Hoffs last week in Hollywood.) I'm seeing her in September and think it's a hoot that she's doing "Live Your Life Be Free," which is not only a great gay-pride anthem, it's the should've been a hit of a lifetime!
