Song of the Day: 'Rescue' by the Feeling

I first fell for UK pop tarts the Feeling when I heard "Love It When You Call" and "Never Be Lonely" off their debut album in 2006. While they have been busy releasing music ever since -- including a singles collection in 2011 -- it wasn't until I got an email about their latest LP, "Boy Cried Wolf," which features some of singer/songwriter Dan Gillespie-Sells' most personal work to date:

PR guru Rey Roldan writes:
Dan, himself is an out gay man, grew up with two mums and a dad. I met one of his mums when Dan was here in NYC and she was lovely... Now, the story of his musical upbringing (Dad used to bring him to Glastonbury Festival every year... his mums would bring him to London Pride every year and he'd be exposed to lots of LGBT music and culture) itself was different in itself, but the more beers we drank, the more colorful his upbringing became. The good thing is that even though his story is pretty great, the music is too. Dan wrote it as a cathartic release after he and his boyfriend of five years broke up. Instead of going through an emotional rollercoaster, he put it all on paper... and then to music. The result: "Boy Cried Wolf"... a heartbreaking and ultimately triumphant trip through his emotions... "Rescue" begs his friends to help him through this mess... "You'll See" has him seething through his teeth at his former lover, telling him to see what he did to him and what will happens in the aftermath... "I Just Do" is a soaring battle cry, showing that there's hope out there... but there are scars.
