Amusement Park Cancels Wedding Contest Rather Than Include Gay Couple
When two men protested their exclusion from a wedding contest at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio -- site of many childhood memories, a big diversion from going to our usual Bob-Lo -- the contest was quickly canceled. What assholes. Guess I won't be going on the Pirate again anytime soon. Kind of depressing seeing as this is the same place where the film "Edge of Seventeen" was filmed back in the late '90s. I always much preferred "Edge of Seventeen" to "Beautiful Thing", a movie that irritated me to no end.
Chris Lee Stafford, who played the lead in "Edge of Seventeen", left acting and became a lawyer. (His commencement address used to be online, but seems to be gone now).
I see that a "Chris Lee Stafford" is practicing law on West 83rd Street, NYC--perhaps you'll run into him.
Here's a video of his appearance on "Law and Order":

I often say the only reason to visit Ohio is Cedar Point and Amish Country. I grew up in Canton. Despite this bad news, if someone I can get an opportunity to go to the Point again, I'll take it in a heart beat. the best roller coasters ever. Except maybe the Cyclone.
