Floyd Corkins, the 28-year-old Virginia man who shot a security guard at the Washington headquarters of the Family Research Council, has been charged with assault with intent to kill and bringing firearms across state lines. ABC reports that Corkins was a volunteer at a gay community center and had 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches in his backpack at the time of the assault, during which he told the guard that he doesn't like "your politics." I would have to assume anyone who does something like this is mentally ill, but I guess the courts will decide. Kudos to the guard, Leonardo "Leo" Johnson, 46, who despite being shot in the left arm was able to wrestle the weapon away from Corkins before anyone else was hurt. More details HERE.
