While I was dancing the night away with Kylie Minogue at the Hammerstein Ballroom (review
HERE), my friend Scooter LaForge was busy taking in the opening night gala for the new Keith Haring exhibition at the Gladstone Gallery (on display through July 1). The show features 133 previously unseen works on paper -- many of which were created in 1978 when he was a 19-year-old student at the School of Visual Arts -- as well as three large-scale works from between 1982-1984. The exhibit fittingly debuted on what would have been the artist's 53rd birthday. (It's hard to fathom that he was only 31 years old when he died.) Keith's parents, Joan and Allen, were on hand, as was my girl Debbie Harry. According to G -- whose photos I grabbed -- has the full report
HERE.
