Dissing Jessica Stein

Life is sweet these days for "Mad Men" hunk Jon Hamm, who shared the stage on Sunday for his hit show's third straight Emmy win for best drama and whose upcoming film, "The Town," is getting rave reviews. But while Hamm seems to be adjusting nicely to his newfound superstardom, one person having a tough time dealing with it is his longtime love, Jennifer Westfeldt.

A source in La-La-Land close to the acting couple said Westfeldt -- who was the twosome's "it" member way back in 2001 when she co-wrote/produced and starred in the bicurious indie hit "Kissing Jessica Stein" while her lover could barely get arrested in Hollywood -- said Hamm's success is "killing" her, and that she is "very upset" at all the film roles that are suddenly coming her man's way. (In addition to "The Town," Hamm can be seen in the Allen Ginsberg biopic, "Howl," later this year and will star in the megabudget action flick "Sucker Punch" in 2011.) My source says that she has been trying to "laugh it off," but privately she complains about all of the scripts that "turn up" outside their door every day -- "I mean who knew that many scripts even existed?! Ha, ha, ha ..."

Her envy was readily apparent on the red carpet Sunday night when she wouldn't let Hamm talk -- and kept butting in to answer questions directed at him in a sad attempt to get more camera time. While my source says Westfeldt is not likely to go Brynn Hartman on her leading man, they said that she has rubbed a lot of people in the business the wrong way and thinks "fate has found the perfect punishment for her."
