Some temporarily good news for same-sex couples in the Lone Star state.
The El Paso Times reports:
The City Council today voted unanimously to delete an ordinance that would have stopped health benefits to gay and unmarried partners of city employees.
The group of citizens who gathered petitions for the ordinance has said they will now gather signatures to put the issue to a voter referendum.
The council voted in August to provide medical insurance to unmarried partners of city employees.

And here on the opposite side of the State in Houston a new mailer has hit the mailboxes today attacking the three (out) gay candidates who are in a run-off this Saturday. One is running for mayor and the other two are running for council positions.
Voters are asked to vote for traditional families and marriage by casting their votes for the opponents of the gay candidates.
