Both men played at an incredible level for over 4 hours. I'm so pleased for Rafa..he's lovely guy and great champion.

If the French Open was difficult to overcome, I wonder what this defeat will do to Roger's psyche.

love roger but if anyone was going to take it from him, rafa is worthy - amazingly humble and respectful.
Great final but I have to say I thought they should have stopped at the second rain delay and let them come back and finish the match on Monday.
I AM devastated that Roger lost. I hope this lights a fire in him for the US Open.

Roger said in the prescon/interview that it was dark so he couldn't see. It kinda comes off a little whiny but I really had to laugh when I read about Rafa's take on that (probably in response to Roger): "In the last game, I didn't see nothing."

I was so sure Roger would win it when he came back in sets three and four! I hope he shakes this off, but I think he's going to take it really hard. Not like Bjorn Borg "I'm-quitting-today" hard, but I think losing the number 1 spot will be a tough blow.
It's incredible how fast Nadal has improved on grass in the last three years. No wonder Andy Roddick sounds so discouraged about his own chances of ever winning another Slam.
My hunch, though, is that Nadal's knees will give out years before Roger retires.
Roger's complaint about darkness hurting his game is legit. Yes, both players are subject to the exact same conditions, but Roger's game requires more precision and timing than Rafa's. So, it's understandable that he felt it hurt his game more because it probably did.
Nonetheless, what a classic match!
