Stool Sample

Someone needs to wipe that smirk off this douche bag's face.

I missed a lot of this while I was away this weekend, but O.J. Simpson was (finally) arrested and charged with six felonies yesterday in connection with an armed robbery of sports memorabilia in Las Vegas on Thursday night. He faces more than 30 years in jail if convicted, time in jail that some of you may know he should already be serving for slaughtering two human beings in 1994. I can't think of many examples off the top of my head (Al Capone's the only one I've got), but it seems like you frequently hear about people who got away with horrible crimes winding up getting theirs for some lesser offense. I'm hoping this is one of those cases. Did the guilt finally catch up to O.J. (that so-called "confessional" book being Act One) so that he felt compelled to get arrested -- or is he just so arrogant (and stupid) that he thought he was once again above the law and could get away with something like this?

When the word came in that he was being held without bail someone in the newsroom wondered how this could be, asking: "Why do they need to do that, where is he going to go?" Um, anyone know where "AC" is? I think the cops did the right thing. Marcia Clark believes the decision to hold him is highly significant: "Here is what's telling -- not only did the police not allow O.J. to go to the interview previously arranged for tomorrow, Monday, they did not call his lawyers to arrange for a private surrender as police usually do in high profile cases. The police went to him unannounced and snatched him from his hotel room early this morning. ... The fact that police did this the morning after they arrested a co-defendant says to me that the co-defendant dumped on him." We sure could have used a stool pigeon back in 1995, let's hope justice finds The Juice this time around. (NYT)

He's smirking for the same reason Bushboy's smirking. They both know they're gonna walk.

In Ireland we'd call O.J. a "smarmy aul' bollix". :D
