Double Trouble?

Former media darling Monica Seles smacks one of her trademark two-handed backhands against Martina Navratilova during an exhibition at the ATP Romania Open yesterday in Bucharest. No word on who won, but I'd hope the 20-years-younger Seles could handle the canceled Czech pretty easily despite the fact that Martina has played on the tour more recently. Seles, whom I haven't heard much about in recent years but who has never officially retired, was also recently spotted at the U.S. Open in New York looking fit and fabulous alongside a former NYC mayor. Would you believe that she's actually younger not much older than Lindsay Davenport, who just won her first post-baby/ post-"retirement" tournament this weekend in Indonesia, knocking out third-ranked Jelena Jankovic along the way? Could this mean Seles and/or Jennifer Capriati still have something left in the tank, or is the Davenport result the exception to the rule?

Seles is not younger than Davenport. Seles is 33/34, Lindsay is 31.

Monica is actually NOT younger than Lindsay. Lindsay is 31 and Monica is 33. Monica won the French as the youngest ever at age 16 in 1990 after turning pro in 1989. Linday was not yet a pro and was just finishing middle school at the time. She turned pro in 1993. The WTA website can verify this.
