So jealous that my good friend Frieda Laye attended RuPaul's DragCon in Los Angeles and got to worship at the altar of Quinn Cummings, who was nominated for an Academy Award for "The Goodbye Girl" at age 10 and then joined the cast of "Family" as Annie Cooper. (She didn't win the Oscar, but Richard Dreyfuss did for best actor, making him the youngest person to that point to ever win that top award ...at age 30!)

"Family" was always my mom's and my favorite show to watch together. Although she swears she didn't know I was gay, she always used to tell me that Willie (Gary Frank) reminded her of my brother Billy and that I reminded her of Buddy (Kristy McNichol) -- as if I were ever that butch!

   I think Maria's tennis career is toast, so what better way to spend your retirement than hanging out on a beach in Mexico with Chelsea Handler? The two became friendly after the screamer appeared on "Chelsea Lately," and now I hear a "Chelsea Does ... Russia" is also in the works -- which should be interesting given that she has publicly stated her disdain for all of them. In her defense, Maria's only a Russian when it comes to doping :-)
