Possibly sport-altering wins for Draper and Andreeva in the desert. Full report plus all the ATP beef that's fit to post -- and then some -- in my XL tennis roundup BELOW.
Jack Draper completely overwhelmed Holger Rune 6-2, 6-2 in a little more than an hour in the final of Indian Wells on Sunday, achieving two big milestones by claiming his first Masters 1000 title and earning his debut in the top 10 of the ATP rankings. Draper catapults from No. 14 to a career-high No. 7 in the rankings today.
Perhaps most impressive about his run was defeating defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the semis, after losing the second set 6-0. We've always believed the strapping 23-year-old Brit had the game to be a top player. Now only time will tell if his often-injured body has what it takes to keep the winning going.
In doubles, top seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic beat Sebastian Korda and Jordan Thompson 6-3, 6-4 to win the crown on Saturday
And in one of the most exciting turns in recent memories, 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva made extra good on her promise by taking out World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in a come-from-behind thriller, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. That she also dismissed Iga Swiatek in the semis -- and won the previous WTA 1000 event in Dubai -- makes the feat all the more impressive. We've seen other pheoms faulter in the past, but I must confess her blend of power and finesse has nearly made me a true believer.
Forgive me while I fanboy on Jack Draper

After getting an unlucky draw in Indian Wells -- losing to eventual champion Jack Draper in the first round -- rising Brazilian player Joao Fonseca made the most of the Phoenix Challenger
The 18-year-old won the Arizona Tennis Classic, becoming the second-youngest player from South America — behind Juan Martin del Potro — to win his third ATP Challenger Tour titles. Fonseca defeated Alexander Bublik 7-6(5), 7-6(0) in an entertaining final that featured superb shotmaking from both players.

So happy for Jack! He played amazing throughout the tournament and he did not have an easy draw. By the way, he's a big Yay from me. Thanks for all the pics this week. And, of course, the others, especially Marcus Giron!
