Tennis Tuesday: Ryan O'Neal

In honor of Ryan O'Neal, I introduced Damian to one of my favorite films starring the late actor, 1984's "Irreconcilable Differences." Loosely based on Peter Bogdanovich's affair with Cybill Shepherd -- which ended his marriage to collaborator Polly Platt -- Ryan, Shelley Long and Drew Barrymore have never been better than in this bittersweet comedy. I'd forgotten that it featured a scene of the nouveau rich antagonist playing tennis -- but it's a Life magazine photo of Ryan wearing a white headband that's even more revealing BELOW!

You cannot be serious!

You know how they say women marry their fathers? This shot is from 1971, but I'm sure seeing John McEnroe ...

With Tatum

"Diferencias Irreconciliables": With Sharon Stone, who steals the show in the film-within-a-film "Atlanta"!

1971

While "What's Up, Doc?" is obviously his best film, I'm also a huge fan of his Barbra Streisand rematch: "The Main Event"

And he and John Hurt are adorable as "Partners"

For someone who was apparently quite awful to his children, there's not a single person in Hollywood who didn't love and adore him.
