Weekend Tennis Roundup

Week two of the Australian Open is under way as I write this. And with so many upsets and surprises in both the men's and women's draws, it's anyone's guess who will come out victorious. In the meantime, check out all the highlights on and off the court Down Under BELOW.

Boss man Matteo Berrettini survived a scare from Carlos Alcaraz before outclassing Pablo Carreño Busta

... to become the first Italian man to reach the final eight in all four majors

Not to be completely outdone, the teen Spanish sensation showed off his new and improved guns

Ryan Harrison & friends: You know not a single person in this photo has been vaccinated against the coronavirus

God let this be true. I've always said every single problem Naomi Osaka has is in her head. Please let her get out of her own way so she can fulfill her full potential, which is definitely at the Venus Williams and Justine Henin level of majors.

Well played, gurl

Diego Schwartman isn't going to let a disappointing major get him down

Karen Khachanov gives 'em what they want

Liam Broady caused a gay sensation with his rainbow shoelaces ...

(Who's the lucky bro?)

Liam wasn't the only player to catch the gays' eyes: Thanasi Kokkinakis flashed some abs wore rainbow sweatbands on Pride night ...

 to the delight of many

Watch a special message from the players HERE.

Speaking of which: How sweet was this exchange between Liam and Billie Jean King?

As someone married to an Argentinian, I know I'm supposed to disdain Brazilians ...

But I do have a little crush on Marcelo Demoliner

And don't even get him started about Portuguese ... but come on, Joao Sousa!

How upset can Paula Badosa be about getting creamed by Madison Keys when she's got this waiting for her in the pool?

Marton Fucsovics looked great losing early

Stefano Travaglia lost in the first round of singles and doubles ...

But he still looks like this

Bernard Tomic: Yes

Poor Tom Hill, having to watch Maria Sakkari lose yet another match she shouldn't have

Hubba-hubba: Sam Groth has been really filling out since becoming a pandemic father of 2. Here he is busting out of a Ralph Lauren polo shirt with soccer cutie Joshua Cavallo

Putting the 'wide' in Wide World of Sports

Aussie Aussie Aussie

I could be in serious trouble if Damian sees how pasty Andrea Vavassori is ...

Here he is recovering with fellow Italian Gianluca Mager

Lloyd Glasspool feeling up his Finnish doubles partner, Harri Heliövaara

And I thought the sexy Brit was more of an ass man

Still cruising Matty Reid

The reunited pairing of Andreas Mies and Kevin Krawietz came up very short in their third-round match, but their fans felt like they won it all

Germans Down Under ...

The Bratwurst bunch

It was nice to see that Cristian Garin isn't always as sullen as he is on court

That's more like it

Pablo Cuevas and friends hang 10

Future daddy Tobias Simon says uncle

What a thrill to see Maxime Cressy into the second week of a major!

Vasek Pospisil writes: Can’t wait for what’s ahead in 2022. A lot in the works; going to be a good year 🚀.. oh and here’s a photo of me in a sweater

6-4 German Yannick Hanfmann looked like a winner easily losing to Rafael Nadal

A disappointing showing Down Under from Holger Rune, who has just cracked the Top 100

Mischa Zverev's little brother, Alexander, laid another major egg

Sam Stosur called it a singles career, but is still in the mixed-doubles draw with fellow Aussie Matt Ebden

And speaking of Matt, he and countryman Max Purcell are through the men's doubles quarterfinals

Giving good Head

Jonny O'Mara hits the golf course after a second-round doubles loss

To Serb with love: Janko Tipsarević

Does it get more handsome than Pablo Andújar? (That's Pablo with Felix Auger Aliassime and Pedro Martínez in the hot tub at the top of this post.)

Studly Americans Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow

Marin Cilic still has it at 33

Ryan Harrison's suburban dad tour takes him to the Midwest

Hot couple alert: Dennis Novak and Mats Moraing

Back to Asics with Corentin Moutet

Jeļena Ostapenko's box runneth over

In Challenger-land: Russian cutie Pavel Kotov finished his 2021 season with a maiden #ATPChallenger title in Forli...  On Sunday, he defeated No. 2 seed Quentin Halys 7-5, 6-7(5), 6-3 to claim his second!

Nathan Ponwith hosted a Sun Devil reunion but I wasn't invited :-(

And last but not least, who can name this bad-knee-ed player turned commentator?

Tomic is always a hard no. What a serial jackass.

The Tennis Podcast spends lots of time on today’s pod discussing Pride Day. (I highly recommend the podcast on general. Smart people with great chemistry and lots of laughs… plus surprises like when, at last year’s Wimbledon, Billie Jean and Ilana Kloss hung out with the Tennis Podcast gang for an evening.)

That is definitely Mary Carillo in the last photo. The bad knees were her problem. Little known trivia fact -- she won the French mixed doubles title with John McEnroe, in 1977 I believe. They both grew up in Queens NY.

@martini421: Correct!
