Song of the Day: 'Buenos Aires' by Patti LuPone

I'm a bad gay who not only knows little about Broadway musicals, knows even less about the queen of them. And I must say I was underwhelmed from this clip of Patti LuPone performing one of the highlights of "Evita" at the 1981 Tony Awards. But now that I realize she wasn't in full Eva drag -- at first I thought Mel had let Alice off the night -- I am starting to see the appeal.

she has a strong voice, but there are times (not even the fast patter part) where I'm going, "what is she singing?" Maybe that's a Rice - Webber issue, I don't know, but it's distracting.
