Luke Perry Is Dead at 52 After Massive Stroke

TMZ is reporting that Luke Perry died this morning, five days after suffering a massive stroke at his home in Sherman Oaks, Calif.  His reps told the gossip site that doctors had sedated Luke, hoping to give his brain a fighting chance to recover from the trauma of the stroke ... but apparently, the damage was too extensive.

I remember my pick when Kelly had to choose between Dylan and Brandon. She picked herself -- I opted for "one of each." Absolutely heartbreaking.

Although "Beverly Hills, 90210" was never the highest-rated show, I think it's hard for younger people to understand just how huge it -- and its stars -- were at the time. Read my pal Kevin Sessums's July 1992 Vanity Fair cover story about Luke HERE.

A tragic loss- way too young to die- he was aging nicely and was so good as Archie's father on "Riverdale" May he rest in peace
