ACLU to Trump: SEE YOU IN COURT! -- UPDATE

Donate HERE.

When extremists control all three branches of government, the American Civil Liberties Union and Southern Poverty Law Center are about all we have. Today, the ACLU issued the following statements:

On Trump's so-called religious freedom executive order :
We’re headed to court to stop Trump again. He just signed an executive order that clears the way for extremists to use religion as an excuse to discriminate and deny women reproductive healthcare. It also damages our country’s long-standing commitment to the separation between church and state. We need monthly donors, Guardians of Liberty, to provide the ongoing support that enables us to fight this battle and so many more in the Trump era. Help us protect people’s rights at this urgent time—make your monthly donation now.
On the House passing the Unaffordable Care Act:
The American Health Care Act aims to take health care coverage away from millions of Americans, costing many of them their lives. It’s a giant step backwards to repeal a health care law that has helped end discriminatory policies against women, people with disabilities, people of color, and LGBT people. This cruel bill cuts off access to reproductive health care for millions who depend on Planned Parenthood. It also does grave harm to people with disabilities who rely on Medicaid for critical services that allow them to live in the community instead of an institution. “Now that this misguided legislation moves to the Senate, we urge senators of both parties to declare this bill dead on arrival. The voice of the people will not be silenced until they do.
Let's hope there are at least three adult Republicans in the Senate, although I sincerely doubt it.

UPDATE:

No wonder Bible thumpers were so disappointed yesterday -- it turns out Trump's executive order was just lip service. (I'd still donate to one of these causes, though.)
