The more I read about the case featured in Netflix's "Making a Murderer" -- which all but exonerated Steven Avery -- the less convinced I became of his innocence. But the one thing that remained consistent is my 100% belief that his nephew Brendan Dassey had nothing to do with the murder of Teresa Halbach, and that lawyers -- including his own -- shoukd be brought up on charges for what they did to this poor kid. That day will likely never come, but setting him free would go a long way toward bringing someone justice in this shockingly unjust case. Let's hope that's what's next.
The cases featured on HBO, "Serial" and this one from Netflix have all been affected by the attention brought by mass attention. But doesn't that three-for-three record give you pause when you think of the hundreds of thousands of cases we'll never know about?
