Michael Sam Says He Is Going to Give NFL 'One More Shot'

Michael Sam -- who was recently spotted at The Abbey in West Hollywood with a guy who looked an awful lot like his on-again/off-again lover, Vito Cammisano -- responded to a Twitter query about his future saying he is “going to give it one more shot," The 26-year-old defensive end, who was the first openly gay man drafted by the NFL when the St. Louis Rams picked him in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft, was cut at the end of the preseason. The Cowboys signed him to their practice squad not long after only to release him two months later. He then had a brief -- and drama-filled -- stint with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL last year, appearing in just one game before leaving the team citing "personal reasons." (It was embarrassing.) Let's hope Sam, who presumably would participate in the next (as yet unscheduled) Veterans Combine, has better luck than when he tried to forge a similar path back into the big leagues in 2015.

More like beg the NFL or even CFL to give him one more shot. I wish he would take another year to try and clean up his apparently messy life, but I also do wish him well.
