Joke Whore -- UPDATE

Yeah, kid. How DARE you make a joke that is obviously a riff off her entire shtick? (Sigh.) To her credit, she "forgave" him and moved on, which is more than I can say for the Fake Controversy Police. (Save your outrage for people who really need it, folks.)

UPDATE: I love Amy and don't want to see the world gang up on her now that she's gotten to the next level of success. (There's a lot of overlap in stand-up.) I'm a HUGE fan of Wendy Liebman, btw:

A mild joke entirely in keeping with her persona.

I don't think it's a huge leap to say this might be misdirected anger,
that she's painted herself into a corner she doesn't like or no longer
works for her.

It's this exact reason I don't watch her anymore.

She got into a slump, and now, is as annoying and awful as those other comics who attained too much fame and never adapted their style to it.

And yes, Amy, because you're a whore. A media whore. You'll do anything to get your name in the press. Welcome to Kardashian territory. Let your best friend Jlaws'yes tell you about that bit of fun.

I'll be watching reruns of my old shows until Grace and Frankie return, to watch a woman who rose to prominence, screwedup, and learned from her mistakes show me how funny acting is done.

jokes about exercising in your sleep? jokes about someone slapping the food out of your hand? jokes about dressing your man down to keep him?

i've heard all of these jokes for years, and guess what - not only did amy not come up with them first, neither did wendy, kathleen, or tammy.

notice all the backtracking once the story began to circulate, amy is guilty of rehashing old material, not theft.

I heard Wendy Liebman's very own 'joke' that she wrote herself long before she was born. It's not an uncommon observation.

@northalabama Why did you need to name only female comedians to make your point? And how long is your list of male comedians that get a pass for saying the same things other male comedians say? It's not always about having completely new content, but also about delivering it in a unique way.

sandy, you seem confused about the characters of the story, and overly anxious to make a point about misogyny that simply doesn't exist.

please lighten up, and talk about this at your next therapy session so you can work through it without bothering others unnecessarily. that, and get over yourself.
