A friend in Washington writes to tell me that there is (what tweets reveal to be) a "suicidal transgender woman" firing a rifle from a rooftop building at 19/K NW in the heart of D.C.'s lobbying district. Police have cordoned off three-block radius and it is causing a rush hour traffic nightmare.
Not sure if anyone has been hurt, but wishing the best for all. Let me know if you hear more.
UPDATE: Sounds like the woman is in custody and no one was injured.

The shooter's name is Sophia Dalke, 31, of Springfield, Va., and as suspected, it did seem she was suicidal. Still, she was charged with assault on a police officer while armed for firing a gun at them after a 10-hour standoff.
And if this photo she posted isn't a cry for help, I don't know what is.
