Caitlyn Jenner Named Glamour Magazine's Woman of (Part of) the Year

Caitlyn Jenner -- who came out as transgender seven months ago -- was recognized for her LGBT advocacy work at Glamour magazine's 25th annual Women of the Year awards last night at Carnegie, being hailed "The Trans Champion."
"I am so blessed I have family. And not one of them has abandoned me; they've all been support of me. It's incredible," Jenner said in a video collage before taking the stage. "Of all the things I've done in my life, Caity is why God put me on this earth: to tell my story; to be honest with myself about who I am. And in doing that, making a difference in the world. And I'm very happy to be living on the other side."
Keep up the good work, gurl!

I applaud the fact that Caitlyn has helped understanding for the general public and made it a bit easier for trans people. I would have preferred a role model who was not so into fancy restaurants, designer dresses, self-promoting TV shows, and BEING A REPUBLICAN. If she endorses a republican presidential candidate (any of whom would badly hurt our interests, particularly with the Supreme Court), I hope one of her implants drops to her waist.

FYI, Judith Light introduced her and got really weepy, which I found interesting. And CJ's best line was something like "I never in a million years thought I'd be here—and I bet you didn't either!"
