Song of the Day: 'Forbidden Nights' by Darlene Love

Darlene Love may have spent five decades 20 feet from stardom, but the David Letterman favorite has always been an idol of mine. From her days recording with Phil Spector to her brilliant off-Broadway show, "Portrait of a Singer," I've been following her for as long as I can remember. I've seen her beautiful Christmas show a number of times, but now I'm excited that she's putting out her first solo album in ages, the tongue-in-cheek titled "Introducing Darlene Love" -- with songs by Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Webb, Linda Perry and more -- available for pre-order now HERE.

The first single was composed by Elvis Costello but has the Wall of Sound all over it:
