Rosie O'Donnell's Missing Daughter, 17, Was Found With Convicted Heroin Dealer She Met on Tinder -- UPDATE

Disturbing update from The Daily Mail on Rosie O'Donnell's daughter.
The schoolgirl daughter of TV comedian Rosie O'Donnell spent several days in the company of a man convicted of drug offences and who had been arrested for endangering a child, Mail Online can reveal tonight. Chelsea O'Donnell, 17, met known criminal Steve Sheerer through the online dating app Tinder, it can be disclosed. When she was apprehended at a house in Village Drive, Barnegat, New Jersey, last night, the runaway who had been the subject of an appeal by her mother, tried to hide in an attic with her puppy Bear. Sheerer, 25, first told officers she was not inside the property, but he was known to police officers who knew they could not accept his word at face value. Patrolman Nicholas Dapuzzo entered the property and found the teenager, wearing a black zip up hoodie, white shirt and jean shorts, huddled in the attic with her dog. She was unharmed and of 'sound mind and body' but it is the Mail's revelation that she was with a man with a drugs record who she met on social media that is likely to alarm her mother most. It has been established that Chelsea, who went 'missing' on August 11 after leaving her family home in Nyack, New York, spent the first few days in New York City. She then headed for Penn Station in Manhattan and boarded a bus arriving in Barnegat 'Thursday-ish' she told police.

Glad this has a happy ending -- and here's hoping the younger Ms. O'Donnell gets the help she needs.

The Daily News reports:
It was Rosie O’Donnell’s public plea for help in finding her missing mentally ill daughter that led to the 17-year-old’s swift return, police said Wednesday. Chelsea O'Donnell went missing on Aug. 11, and was found at a home in Long Beach, N.J., hours after her mom issued a desperate public plea for her daughter to come home. “It has not been easy, for any mother of a child with mental illness, or all the siblings,” mother of five O'Donnell told The News on Tuesday night, after Chelsea was found safe and sound at a residence in Barnegat Light. Sgt. Daniel Wilson described the disappearance as a “runaway situation.” He said Chelsea had been in contact with her mom “through third parties” in the days after she left their South Nyack home. “She wasn't divulging her location. They were very brief contacts, just, statements were made, I'm not sure of the particulars,” Wilson said. “She said she was not saying where she was." The troubled teen also “did not give any indication” as to why she left home, he said. O’Donnell reported her daughter as missing on Sunday, and then tweeted and asked for help finding her daughter on her website on Tuesday. “Chelsea stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention,” the statement on her site said. She also tweeted a picture of her daughter and her six-month-old therapy dog, Bear, who Chelsea had taken with her.
