Can Madonna Save Detroit?


Love this piece about Madonna saying she's feeling 'incredibly inspired' by her Detroit homecoming visit and tours, and that she wants to help save her hometown. “Many people doubt that Detroit can come back and think that the challenges are too overwhelming to overcome,” Madonna said in the statement. “But what I witnessed (Tuesday) is the true story of Detroit —- a city of innovation, commitment, perseverance, imagination and opportunity. The entrepreneurs, artists, activists, teachers and children I met today left me incredibly inspired. I appreciated every minute of it and look forward to helping make the future of Detroit brighter.” Although she was born in the non-Detroit-area Bay City, she grew up iin the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills in Oakland County, where yours truly is from, too. It will take more than her to lift up Detroit and change the attitudes of the inhabitants. The you know what just keeps getting deeper and deeper...
