Wasn't Yesterday Wonderful?

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to Number Nine yesterday in Washington for my book-signing debut! Despite the incoming snowstorm -- and the fact that coverage of the Oscars red carpet was imminent -- we had a nice turnout, even selling all the books the publisher shipped down. Was thrilled that both of my brothers were able to attend -- albeit not at the same time -- as well as my dear friends Jean and Paula. Want to thank manager Kris and his incredibly helpful staff for being so welcoming. And I especially want to thank my friend Keith for playing moderator and host -- I want him to tour with me so bad! -- and Chad, who not only lined up the venue, he also created the event invitation, posters and compiled a fun slide show featuring all of the rejected book covers! I've often fantasized what it would be like to do one of these, and I must say it lived up to my every dream. The icing on the cake was getting on the train home -- we beat the storm! -- and finding that Go-Go's bassist Kathy Valentine had tweeted that she was "enjoying" my book!!!

Keith, who's been playing my straight man on and off for 25 years

With Jean and Paula, whose book club in Bethesda is reading my book next!

With Kevin, one of a dozen incredibly great guys I met

 With my brother Terence

Congratulations! You and your brother are so different; glad I'm not the only one like that. I have to budget for books not from the library, but yours is first on my list.
