Remembering 'The Friendly Giant'

People already tease me that my blog has an incredibly narrow appeal -- Gen X gays who worship Chris Evert, Debbie Harry and Crystal Light -- but this nod to "The Friendly Giant" may just take the cake. The show, which we picked up on Channel 9 in Windsor, Ontario, just across the Detroit River,  was made possible by a detailed model of a village and the regular-sized Bob Homme. The opening credits featuring the view of the town was the coolest, and I always wanted the furniture inside the castle for my Big Jeff and Jody dolls to try on for size. On top of all that, Rusty made the perfect best friend!

Looking forward to tomorow's post on Mr. Dressup. What gen x gay could resist the allure of the "tickle trunk"?

I remember it, but I grew up in the 60's. Did you know the theme song is called 'Early One Morning'? It's an old English folk song.
