Madge of Courage

There was certainly a lot of snickering about Madonna's appearance on Sunday night's Grammys. Ill-advised grill aside, all I have to say about the topic is:

1. Getting older is not fun (speaking from personal experience);
and
2. She is in a unique position, as we rarely have gotten to witness pop culture icons of her status fully mature. (Even Cher has opted out of the aging process.) We've already lost Whitney and Michael Jackson, so rather than dissing on superstars of a certain age, maybe it's time we embrace them, and remember that they -- and we -- won't be around forever.

Madonna has to be Madonna, god bless her. Still, wouldn't it have been nice to see her out of costume? What about a stunning gown, great jewels, her hair in an up-do? Madge can pull out the glamour when she wants to. Why not give us a shot of class? And the hats: they are not winners.

The thing about Madonna is that she is just simply not a pleasant person. And her ego knows NO BOUNDS. Yes, she is very talented - god knows I have all her music - but I just heard she is guesting on MILEY CYRUS' MTV unplugged tomorrow night? OMG give it a break, lady

I won't miss her. I'll always have the memories. I don't need to see the desperation.

I don't think Madonna's exactly embraced the aging process...

No. But as many have pointed out, it's embraced her.

If Miley can't perform the 7 wonders tonight, perhaps Madge will kill her and remain Supreme ; )
