Kathy Valentine posted these vintage first-draft lyrics to "Can't Stop the World," a song she first recorded with the band the Textones before re-recording it for "Beauty and the Beat" when she joined the Go-Go's in 1981. Back in the day it kind of felt like a bit like one of the LP's rare throways to me -- along with "Skidmarks on My Heart" -- yet all these years later I kind of see it as the quintessential couldn't-live-without closing number.
