RIP: Gary David Goldberg, Creator of 'Family Ties,' Dies at 68

At a mini "Family Ties" reunion

Gary David Golberg, the Emmy-award-winning television writer and producer who worked on many memorable series, including "The Bob Newhart Show," "Lou Grant," and created "Family Ties," "Spin City" and "Brooklyn Bridge" -- which was loosely based on his family -- has died of brain cancer at 68. Too young, but his legacy will definitely live on.  Sit, Ubu, Sit.
