Unluck of the Draw

Spain's Rafael Nadal, left, head of the French Tennis Federation, Jean Gachassin, center, and Russia's Maria Sharapova pose during the draw for the 2013 French Open tennis tournament, at Roland Garros stadium in Paris, today. Not happy about Rafa being in Novak Djokovic's half of the draw -- maybe they should have seeded Nadal No. 1 after all! Read HERE.

I'm guessing Nole was asked if he has a chance in hell of beating Nadal in Paris.

In American hopefuls news, Jack Sock qualified for Roland Garros!

Also qualifying in American hopeful news...

Dennis Kudla and Steve Johnson both came through as well.

I only mention it because I became a fan of the USC Trojan Johnson at the US Open last summer. By now I was hoping he would be better ranked and wouldn't need to still be qualifying. But people have said the same of the under-performing Sock for a couple of years.

That said though, hopefully all 3 of those guys enjoyed their time in Paris because I don't think any of them will get past their first round opponents. Out of them, Kudla might have the best chance. Johnson and Sock both play guys that are very much at home on clay courts.

I just saw Rhyne Williams made it in the draw too even though he lost during qualifying. Lucky Loser!

That's great that so many American men qualified on clay.

It sucks! I blame Murray for pulling out. Wish it was a final but I do give Djokovic a chance. Tall order? For sure. But if anyone can topple Nadal at RG, it's going to be him. Still rooting for the King of Clay all the way. Is there anyone more fun to watch on the dirt?

Unless something catastrophic happens, Rafa and Serena should win. Much as I would love to see Novak win in Paris, Rafa is just too good on clay.
