Tennis Legend Chris Evert Supports Marriage Equality

Christine Marie Evert Lloyd Mill Norman -- who is one Frenchman away from a matrimonial Grand Slam -- declared her support for marriage equality today, in response to a tweet from a French woman who asked the 18-time major title winner: "are U against ot for the wedding for all (meaning gay persons)? Chris replied: (in all caps) FOR. That's my Chrissie!

We know millennials are for marriage equality, which is why it is particularly heartening to hear from someone who was born in the '50s -- and raised Catholic. Then again, Chris has always been the epitome of cool.

Husband 1: John Lloyd (British)

Husband 2: Andy Mill (American)

Husband 3: Greg Norman (Australian)

I'd have stuck with Andy if I were Chris!

UPDATE: Martina Navratilova responded to my tweet!

"matrimonial Grand Slam"

That's got to be the best line I've heard in 2013. Well done!

There was that time when she and Martina were working the commentary of a match and Chris presented Martina with her Hall of Fame ring by getting down on one knee to put it on Martina's hand. Martina exclaimed, "I've been waiting so long for this!"

Not sure if she meant the ring or getting a ring from Chris. It was cute.
