Cliff and Chucky Headed to Tennis Hall of Fame

Happy to see Cliff Drysdale and Martina Hingis leading the 2013 class for the International Tennis Hall of Fame. (Also headed to Newport, R.I., are Charlie Pasarell, Ion Tiriac and Australian player Thelma Coyne Long.) Drysdale was always a treat to watch in those WCT events -- loved the glove! -- and has always been one of my favorite commentators. And Hingis won 15 major titles -- including five in singles, nine in women's doubles and one in mixed -- and knows her way around an 8-ball. The AP notes that Hingis' first major title came at Wimbledon in women's doubles in 1996 (with Helena Sukova) at 15 years, 9 months, making her the youngest Grand Slam champion in tennis history. It's also worth mentioning that she reached seven other Grand Slam singles finals, but found herself increasingly frustrated as the new era of "big babe" tennis went into overdrive. Congrats to all!
