Survivor: Lower Manhattan

Thanks for all of the messages checking in on me, Michael, Larry and even Bernard. We survived Sandy all right -- barely even heard her, to be honest -- but the power got knocked out for most of Manhattan below Midtown, so the real game of survival only begins now. Our phones are dying, our food supply is low and -- worst of all -- Michael threw his back out this morning and cannot move, so crashing at a generous friend's is now looking unlikely, leaving us in an increasingly bleak situation. Everything is closed near us because of the power outage, but I am heading Uptown to recharge phones at my office. There should be food nearby -- so the biggest challenge now seems to be not killing one another under the stress of it all (they say we could have no power for FOUR or FIVE days). Luckily Michael's back leaves him pretty helpless, so I've definitely got the upper hand ...

I love NY and am thinking of you all and, like many people around the World, am hoping that all will be fixed soon.
