Blue Jays' Player Suspended for Gay Slur

I was sick yesterday so mostly offline. But in case you missed it, nice to see the sports world is treating this kind of bigoted nonsense seriously and swiftly. Now if only we could get the Republican Party to act as mature ... as jocks. Of course, Yunel Escobar's apology -- in which he said he has nothing against gay people and cited a list of gay friends -- left something to be desired. When asked who these gay friend were, he replied: “I have friends who are gay. The person who decorates my house is gay, the person who cuts my hair is gay. I have various friends who are gay. Honestly, they haven’t felt as offended about this. They have just a different understanding in the Latin community of this word.” All righty, then.
