The New York Times wisely let an openly gay reporter -- my pal Erik Piepenburg -- write a story about the undeniable gay appeal of "Magic Mike," where stripper-encrusted parties are going on in movie theaters from coast to coast. (Read HERE.) But I can only assume a straight copy editor was involved in this embarrassing correction. I mean, really: What gay guy can't properly ID Joe Manganiello?

The movie does have a gay appeal. For some reason, I didn't see a lot of gay guys at the screening I went to in South Beach. (Maybe 5 guys in all including myself. The rest were young women.)
