RIP, Don Grady

Don Grady -- who played Robbie on "My Three Sons" -- was 68. Only Wally Cleaver was hotter in those days! Read HERE.

Trivia: Did you know his kid sister Lani -- billed as Lani O'Grady -- played Mary on "Eight Is Enough"? She died of an accidental drug overdose in 2001.

I have to agree that Don Grady was second only to Tony Dow in the looks department in 50's-60's television sitcoms. But, you're showing your age or lack of it by saying that Chip was the eldest of the Douglas brothers. My Three Sons was on ABC from 1960-1965 only in black/white. It changed to CBS and color for the 1965-1972 seasons. During the ABC years Chip was the middle brother and Tim Considine played Mike Douglas the eldest of the Douglas brothers. He left the show on the first CBS episode, when he married his fiance played by Meredith MacRae. He was mentioned only four times during the CBS run. Most of the reruns shown today are of the CBS years, so no one would remember the ABC years, unless they were around then. BTW, William Frawley (Fred Mertz on "I Love Lucy") played the grandfather during the ABC years and William Demarest played Uncle Charlie, his brother, during the CBS years.

It's funny you mentioned Wally Cleaver...I remember watching the reruns of "Leave it to Beaver" when he was older and that was one of the first times I realized I was only watching him. Sad about Robbie...

Kenneth, so right about Don Grady and Tony Dow. Perhaps it is because I am 5 years older, I must also nomiate, as Ozzie called him, Little Ricky Nelson, particularly the 16 year-old rocker with his garage band.

Thanks for the memories!

Here's a link to a clip from 2009 when a local news show had a MY THREE SONS reunion with Tina Cole, Stanley & Barry Livingston and Don Grady. Don was 65 at the time and looks a good 30 years younger. RIP.
