A Winning 'Game Change'

Found "Game Change" to be absolutely riveting Saturday night on HBO, with outstanding performances by Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson and Ed Harris. Didn't read the book, but am told it adheres very closely to John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's tell-all about the 2008 presidential campaign on which it's based, and that screenwriter Danny Strong even interviewed 25 additional people to make sure he had the story correct (he says 24 of 25 agreed that he did). Although I'd read all the juicy parts about how in over her head Palin was, there was something about seeing it acted out that made it jaw-dropping all over again, not to mention completely terrifying. (Matt Damon was right: this was like a bad Disney movie.) Knowing what a mindless egomaniac she was then, it's easy to see how she's become the monster she is today. Perhaps my only critique is the casting of Todd Palin. While David Barry Gray has the general look down, it's certainly a first when the person playing someone in a Hollywood biopic is LESS HOT than the real-life person. Perhaps Gray's past credit as "Richard Nixon at 19" is all you need to know about why he lacks the First Dude's magnetic sex appeal!

Also, why was Levi so tall? Miley Cyrus' former boy toy Juston Gaston had the right look. But everyone knows the real Levi was a midget next to his would-be father-in-law, with or without his mullet.

Lots more Juston HERE.
