Must-She TV

Did you catch Rosie O'Donnell's heart-wrenching interview with Chelsea Handler last night on "The Rosie Show"? It's a side of the bawdy comedian you've never seen before -- and further proof that Rosie is the greatest interviewer of our generation. ("She's like Barbara Walters, but with a better personality," Chelsea quipped after the taping!) Ever since Rosie started doing these audience-free "one-on-one" style interviews (she says she's channeling Tom Snyder), the show has become a must-see event. Not sure if the ratings reflect that -- no one I know can tell you where OWN is on their TV dial -- but let it suffice to say I'm in awe. Other reruns to look out for: a two-parter with Kathy Griffin, Dermot Mulroney (the first movie star Ro ever met!) and Ricki Lake, whom she met in 1988. More clips and info HERE.

It's nice to read that you are such a loyal fan of Rosie.

For myself...not so much. But she clearly enjoys what she is doing, so the more power to her.

Darn--sounds awesome. I'm crazy about Rosie, and my love/dislike for Chelsea is currently on the upswing.

But the topic is too painful for me, even 14 years later. I hope there's at least one other person in the same situation who watched and found comfort from Chelsea and Rosie's brave moments.

I started to watch a few episodes after hearing about the two-part Kathy Griffin interview.... which I'm still looking for in repeats! This format is definitely working for Rosie... love it! Hope it reflects in the ratings.

I'm glad you mentioned the format change, Kenneth. I'd seen the show a few times over the past several months and haven't cared for it.

I caught it again earlier this week when she did Suze Orman and really thought it was a great, great interview. Didn't know if it was a permanent change or just special one-on-one interview week.

Caught the show again the next night to listen to the story about her disappointing experience at the SuperBowl. She exposed some raw feelings while telling that saga.

Now I'm sold. If the show stays like this, I'll continue to check it out, and I'll recommend that other people do to.
