Love Story

I saw this short film created for the Devotion Project over the summer at NewFest before a screening of "Renee," and it moved me tremendously. At the time, it was nowhere on the Internet, but I saw it on Andy Towle's site today, so I wanted to include it on mine too as I think it's such an important piece of work. The film is a love letter to the relationship between William I. Campbell and John V. Hilton, who met in the 1950s and have been together ever since. Director Antony Osso is the force behind the Devotion Project -- "a series of short documentary portraits celebrating LGBT couples of all stripes" -- and I'd like to believe that if every person who is against same-sex marriage could take a few minutes to watch his film, it would change everything forever. This may be naive, but the film certainly changed me.

Watch it now -- you might wanna get out a hanky:
