Homosexuality 101

With marriage equality slowly becoming a reality, a place in the history books could be one of the last -- if not most important -- piece of the puzzle for equality for LGBT Americans. (You're nobody until you're documented in history.) California has taken the first step toward correcting that problem by introducing legislation to teach gay history in public schools, but it won't be easy. As the AP reports: California conservatives were outraged in 1966 when the state Board of Education adopted a new junior high school history textbook that included inclusive treatment of the civil rights movement. The fear was that influential black Americans would indoctrinate students, undermine religious values and politicize the curriculum, an argument that has already begun against "gay history." Maybe we need to dumb it down for these people, with videos like this!
